Blue symbolizes the sea and sky, white symbolizes hope for peace, red symbolizes the efforts of the people, the band symbolizes the path of the people of cape Verde to build the country with their hard-working hands, and the five-pointed star circle symbolizes the nation of cape Verde and its unity.
