The flag of cape Verde was inaugurated on 22 September 1992. The national flag is rectangular, with a ratio of about 5:3. The flag is blue, in the middle of the bottom of the white, red, white three ribbon across the flag, the bottom left of ten yellow stars formed a circle. Blue symbolizes the sea and sky, white symbolizes hope for peace, red symbolizes the efforts of the people, the band symbolizes the path of the people of cape Verde to build the country with their hard-working hands, and the five-pointed star circle symbolizes the nation of cape Verde and its unity.
